Bullet Points and Advert Choices:
I have chosen 3 different fragrance adverts throughout periods of time ranging from 1920,1960, and 2013 and all of them have many similarities.
1920's- Bourjois Mais Oui advert

  1. 'its you'- aspiration - if you buy this, you will become the lady in the advert- targeting you directly
  2. feminine
  3. subtle
  4. big skirts tiny waist-the hair

Dana Ambush B&w ’goddess of Fragrance’ (1965)

  1. Trap a man into falling for you- positioning the woman as a predator- the word 'ambush'
  2. 'from the goddess of fragrance' makes her seem like the Greek goddess Nike of victory- battle of the heart, seduction
  3. she is quite secretive because she's hiding behind the statue and makes you want to find out more about her- stealth bomber: she is creeping up on men, if she wears Dana she will embody the qualities of the goddess in the advertisement
  4. elegant/ exquisite
  5. feminism- she's gone out to find a man, the feminist era, 1965

Miss Dior 'La Vie En Rose' (2013)
My moving image fragrance advertisement link: Miss Dior Advert 2013

  1. Ultra feminism
  2. celebrity endorsement
  3. she shows dominance over the man by teasing him- independent
  4. seeing everything from pink tinted spectacles 'la vie en rose'- life is very good
  5. the bottle brings color to the advert- shows you can be out there
